StudioGijs has been training people in using Rhino for over 4 years, with succes. The training program for experienced users is a two day course. The following topics are covered:
Computer visualization, also known as 3D rendering or 3D visualization, is best described as making a (photorealistic) image of a computer model. Colors, materials and other surface properties like reflection and transparency are assigned to the surfaces of that model. By putting the model in virtual environment with lights, a (photographic) image can be generated from the computer model, similar to working in a photo studio.
Vray is a computer visualization plugin developed by Chaosgroup. The program has been plugged into Rhino by ASGVis. In its current state, VrayforRhino is an integrated application, just like Flamingo. This has the added benefit that you don't need to export your model in order to make a rendering out of it.
In comparison with Flamingo, Vray is quite a complex application. The Vray training offered by StudioGijs is about the basic principles of Vray and tries to give you insight in the most important parts of the render engine. There is also a lot of attention to lighting and materials.
In cooperation with Robert McNeel & Associates, Gijs de Zwart has written the e-book Studio-quality Rendering. This extensive tutorial focusses on getting the best out of Flamingo, a rendering plugin for Rhinoceros Nurbs Modeling for Windows. This e-book was released on CD-rom and contains several tutorials, example files and a material library.
On the CD you will find the tutorial in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. More information about this CD can be found here.
